Singapore! Ciao Buenos Aires Part I

Singapore is calling. Buenos Aires has given us three amazing years of family shoots, weddings, engagements, and even the occasional newborn photoshoot. Thank you to all our clients for sharing with us, opening your home to us, and letting us tell part of your story.

While we are getting ready to move back to Asia we will be posting some of our favourite moments from the past three years. Here is part I – enjoy.

Whew. And that’s only part I. When we started up Duff and Frances we didn’t know what to expect. Would people hire us? Would we enjoy shooting families and babies and weddings? We were blown away from the response – we grew and learned with our clients. Over 50 shoots – a bunch of weddings, birthdays, and babies – we couldn’t have asked for a more amazing three years.

Part II will be coming soon – and with it a very exciting announcement of a new project featuring Frances. Woo the anticipation.

Back at it | Williem + Alice Engagement Session

What have photographers Duff and Frances been up to in Buenos Aires? Are they still around?

Answers: Quite a lot. And yes, they’re still around shooting happy families and excited couples!

Here’s a little secret – we’ve been traveling. A lot. Why? We’re moving to Singapore! Next summer we’ll be saying ciao to our beloved Buenos Aires and heading back to Asia. Fret not – we’re still shooting couples and families up until June 2013 so feel free to send an inquiry about a booking through our contact form.

So we’ve been trying to check off as much of South America as we can – and we ended up at this little place called the Galapagos – maybe you’ve heard of it?

To say it was a trip of a lifetime would be an understatement. But lets focus back on the photography of happy couples shall we?

If you are interested in booking an engagement session, family photo shoot, or a wedding please send us an email or use the contact form above.

Before we headed out we had a chance to meet Williem and Alice – a lovely couple from Malaysia (hey we’ll be neighbors!) traveling around South America. Lets see what we had in store for our couple;

We had a fabulous time with Williem and Alice – best of luck in all your travels and who knows – maybe we’ll see you in Singapore!

Destination Engagement | Krysta + Chris | San Telmo

What was the first thing I noticed when I met up with Krysta and Chris? The Canadian Flag proudly displayed on their backpack. It brought back memories of my flag that was plastered on my backpack as I traveled around Europe for a few months like all University grads. I knew right away we would have a good time and did we ever. Lets check out some of the fun as we jaunted around the city and focused in on San Telmo and some fantastic street art around the cobble stoned streets.

“Can you run” I asked. “Of course” she replied. And that’s how we kicked things off.  How could I not take advantage of a mural of people cheering on our Canadian couple? I love shooting around Casa Rosada because you never know exactly what you’ll find (except for a big Pink building).

Tall dark and handsome. Give me some of that! It was a cool day so I got them all nice and close and asked for Chris’ most intense stare as he embraced Krysta. Lovely. On to San Telmo shall we?

Walking around San Telmo with Krysta and Chris was like hanging out with two old friends. We were chatting and laughing the whole time – I must admit it was great to talk to some people who know about poutine and hockey – something hard to find in Argentina and something dearly missed. After their whirl wind through the city they were back off to ‘home’ – A bit jealous I was. Thanks for a fantastic time you two!

San Isidro Wedding | Buenos Aires | Annie + Kevin

San Isidro Wedding

Who are these dashing young men behind these gorgeous flowers? Gaston, Mike, and the man of the hour Kevin. But why oh why are they hiding you may ask? Because they’re AWESOME and made shooting Annie and Kevin’s wedding so much fun for Frances and I. Hopefully you’ll notice not only how enjoyable our time in San Isidro was during the wedding, but also how close these friends and family are – oh and the bride looked just a *tad* bit smashing if I do say so myself. Lets check out how this intimate wedding played out.

As many of you know, when Frances and I got married it was a very small wedding in San Francisco at City Hall. What we loved about it was we had our close family there and it was nice and intimate. It’s hard not to relate to what Annie and Kevin were going for in their wedding.

Annie had her sister, who is living here in Buenos Aires, help with the planning, and upon arrival all the last minute details were ironed out. Getting married in Buenos Aires is something someone will never forget, and will probably make for quite a few good stories as Annie and Kevin grow old together:)

Recoleta Engagement Session | Belina and Robye

A picture says a thousand words; What a day. Our Recoleta Engagement shoot was so action packed how could our couple, flying in from Perth, Australia, not lay down and kick back with the Floralis Generica in the background?!

I’m getting ahead of ourselves here. Lets say hello to our couple from down under, Belinda and Robye. It’s not often I meet someone with an interesting name, and the spelling of Robye is something I’ve never come across. Yes, this is coming from someone with the name Duff (yes, it’s really my one and only name, and no, it’s not short for anything).

I knew we were in for a good time when Robye saw me and said Belinda was just outside shopping for a new pair of Tango shoes. Awesome! You can’t tell from above but they were rockin’ hot red, and they’ll make an appearance below.

To make the shoot memorable we debated back and forth in email and decided on a brand new location for us – the most amazing book store in the world –  El Anteneo. We’ve always wanted to shoot there and were super stoked our recently engaged couple were up for it. Lets see how it all went.

A big THANK YOU to Belinda and Robye for being awesome and tramping all around Buenos Aires (In Red heels no less!). Their wedding plans sound absolutely amazing and it was great to spend time together. I absolutely loved their idea of taking one of these pictures and turning it into a Stamp for their wedding invitations. How cool is that? I wonder if they’ll choose the Red Shoe picture? Whatever they end up choosing it’s sure to be a hit. Thanks once again!
